Salahuddin Ahmed, a senior member of BNP’s Standing Committee, has made it clear that if the Interim Government does not announce the roadmap for the national parliamentary elections by the end of March, political parties will have no choice but to make their own decisions regarding the next steps.
His comments came during a discussion and book-launch event hosted by the Nationalist Research Foundation (NRF) at the Diplomatic Engineers Institute in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon. BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, also spoke at the event.
Salahuddin Ahmed expressed his concern over the delay, saying, "The Chief Advisor still speaks carefully about the election in foreign media but has yet to address the matter in a press conference in the country."
He further urged Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor, to act with sincerity.
“If you truly have good intentions, then just hold the election,” Salahuddin added.
The BNP leader’s statements highlight the growing impatience of the opposition as they push for clarity and action from the government regarding the election process.
